Community Ballroom Classes

Ballroom Dancing offers exercise, fun, team building skills; it promotes self-confidence, and respect. The program consists of group sessions where each month (cycle) we will choose one dance for mastery: Tango, Rumba, Swing, Waltz, Cha Cha, Hustle, Salsa/Mambo, & Foxtrot. Therefore, new students are welcome to join at anytime.

No previous classes required. Sessions held on Sundays in the All Purpose Room in the Administrative Building (not the Community Center).

Individual or Couple Registration

The class is open by appointment and accepts anyone who would like to join. Please inform us by email on or before Friday of that week. No Partner needed.

Group Registration

The group is sealed for each month with registration for the new cycle the first week class of that month.

For example, to participate in the November classes you must register and pre-pay that 1st day of class. Anyone who wants to join after that date will be required to wait until the next cycle of December.

No Partner needed.

Appropriate footwear is necessary, first, for safety and second to improve your dancing by forcing you to use a certain part of the foot. Dance shoes have a special sole and generally cost $125, however you can find them as low as $65. You can do Smooth (Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot) with a Latin shoe but you can’t do Latin (ChaCha, Rumba, Salsa, Merengue) with a Smooth shoe. Practice shoes work for everything but don’t look “pretty.” Latin is the better choice and I advise to buy nude/skin color.

Where to find shoes

Note: This special suede sole and comfortable fit allows the foot to move without the additional pressure on the knee that is common when dancing in rubber-soled sneakers.
